The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have received a donated Information Technology (IT) equipment to the Crime Records Office (CRO) to support its daily operations and improve its record management services.

The handover ceremony took place at the Crime Records Office building at Rove Police Headquarters on 1 June 2026.

Deputy Commissioner National Security Operation Support (DC NSOS) says, “The handover is more than the delivery of office equipment. It represents an investment in capacity, professionalism, and institutional development.”

“It is an investment that will directly support the Criminal Records & Crime Statistics Office in carrying out its important mandate of maintaining criminal records, producing crime statistics, supporting crime analysis and providing reliable information for operational and strategic decision-making,” He added.

The Criminal Records & Crime Statistics Office plays a vital role in achieving these objectives. The office serves as the central repository of criminal records and is increasingly becoming a key contributor to crime reporting, crime statistics and analytical products that support senior management and decision-makers throughout the organisation.

The equipment being handed over will strengthen the office’s ability to perform these functions more effectively and efficiently and improved crime data and analysis enable us to better understand the crime environment in Solomon Islands.

This allows police leadership to make informed decisions, identify priority areas, allocate resources strategically and ultimately improve the services we provide to our communities.

“I wish to commend the Officer in Charge and Staff of the Criminal Records & Crime Statistics Office for their initiative and commitment in pursuing this opportunity. Their efforts reflect a proactive approach towards improving capability and supporting the broader goals of the organisation,” says DC Pogeava.

DC Pogeava express his sincere appreciation to the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) for supporting this initiative through the Small Grants Program. Your investment demonstrates a strong commitment to strengthening law enforcement institutions across the Pacific and supporting the professional development of policing services within our region.
